During our two-month stay in Thailand in 2013, we knew we had to chill somewhere for more than a couple of weeks. So we spent three weeks on a quiet, peaceful beach in Koh Samui, letting our two kids run wild in front of our bungalow. We lucked out! We rented a great place from airbnb.com.
The water in front was calm and shallow, so we would wake in the morning, eat out on the deck, and let the kids splash around until it was time for that day’s adventures.
Which beach is that? Here on Samui now and that beach looks lovely and quiet!

It is Bang Por beach, which is in the Mae Nam area to the north. The house we stayed in was almost right next door to The Sea Koh Samui Resort & Spa. It’s a gorgeous, quiet beach, as you can see from the photos. When we were in Koh Samui in November, 2015, however, they were dong a lot of construction on the road through that area. Just FYI. Plenty of nice restaurants in the area too!
